"Doing things Differently"

07-05-04

Today, we drove on a road.  The road was asphalt.  The road was also Concrete.
Ok.  Enough of that.
We left home about 9:30 a.m. (yes, got a late start).  We drove approx. 567 miles before stopping at a Cracker Barrel restaurant.  Asked for and received permission to park out back in an rv parking place overnight.  This was just outside of  Fort Wayne, Indiana.  We left home and headed for Harrisburg, Pa. and took route 322 West until we got to Interstate 80.  Followed 80 into Ohio and exited onto I 76 West.  Followed that until I 71, then got on route 30 West until we got to Fort Wayne.  Most of that part of the trip was windy, which is kind of a pain trying to drive in, cause it tends to move the motor home around on the road some.  Of course, so do some of the passing trucks as well.  Only hit a couple of spots of drizzle, not really enough to make the road wet.  Temps were in the 80's, so it was kind of warm inside. (No we did not run the generator for the overhead air, and the dash air did not work).  Yes, I knew that before we left.  When we got to Fort Wayne, it was about 78 degrees, woke up Tuesday morning at about 72 degrees.  Good sleeping weather with a small fan and the window open by the bed.  Fueled up in Ohio somewhere, at about 450 mile or so, and mileage was all but 9.0 so far.  Not too bad for all the wind and up and down hills in Western Pa. and Eastern Ohio.  Also had to add about 2 1/2 quarts of oil.  Hope that doesn't continue for the rest of the trip.  Anyhow, we went to bed and had a good nights' sleep.  We'll see what happens tomorrow.  By the way - nothing noteworthy for pictures - sorry :-(.
